NASH CONFIRMS LIGHTING REPAIRS AND UPGRADE ON GROVE HILL

18 October 2024

Local TD Ged Nash has received confirmation that the public lighting on the Grove Hill is being repaired and will then be upgraded.

He said; “In recent weeks especially, Ballsgrove residents have raised the issue of poor public lighting on the Grove Hill with me.

“This is a major public safety concern and it needed to be resolved, along with issues involving the appropriate paring back of trees that were impacting on safety for pedestrians on the Hill.

Labour deputy Ged Nash added that “On foot of my representations, the Council confirmed to me that their public lighting contractor was on the ground this week to start repairing some of the lights, and that an upgraded higher standard LED system will be introduced on the Grove Hill over the next few weeks. This is very good and long-awaited news for local residents, especially as the darker evenings draw in.”

“In addition, the Council has confirmed that the backlog of public lighting repairs across the area that we have been reporting in recent weeks is being cleared by the new contractor.”
